Using online apps to find your significant other is not unusual these days. In fact, one popular dating app, Tinder, now claims to have 300 million matches and 50 marriage proposals since it launched. Tinder is geolocation-based and links up with the subscriber's Facebook friends, making it possible to see if they have any friends in common with someone they would like to date.

Grouper offers a new twist to the dating game. Subscribers can go on a group date with two of their best single friends. For a $20 fee, the date includes the first round of drinks. Grouper will even take care of scheduling the date and location, coordinating the group's schedules.

The choices and chances of meeting a match are even greater since other dating apps are also now available. Among them are Coffee Meets Bagel and Grindr.

Although sites like eHarmony and Match.com are among the popular online dating resources, the apps upstarts are finding their way into consumers' hearts and mobile devices. The quick accessibility of these mobile dating apps allows users to create a profile in under a minute, giving them an edge over the online dating sites.
